Looking at these pictures got me thinking about diversity and freedom, and how it's easy to mistake comfort for freedom, and how comfort comes from control, and how control is the opposite of freedom, and how freedom ain't for the faint of heart, and it occurred to me that diversity might be a barometer for freedom.
